With the vitamix, it just makes this perfect slushy smoothie. So instead of getting this perfect slushy consistency, you get a mixed drink with all this finely chopped ice floating at the top. When you make a frozen drink in a ninja, it doesn't "liquify" the ice. Something else that you can do with it that I couldn't do with any of my $100 ninjas. It tastes like I ordered an $9 drink from a smoothie shop. Infact I was really surprised how much better it tasted. The difference in taste is night and day. There is literally no texture to the smoothies. This blender works so well that it just makes all solid liquids. When you put any sort of leaves or any fruit with seeds in a regular blender, you end up with really small pieces of these things.
